Mama Vertebrae is a simple raglan cardigan pattern with instructions for different yarn weights, fingering, DK, light-worsted and aran.

Designed by Kelly van Niekerk of PEKAPEKA Design Studio.

Keep yourself snuggly while still showing off your favourite dress or top with Mama vertebrae. A casual frontless cardy that keeps the important bits warm and knits up in a breeze without having to worry about button holes and sewing on buttons.

It is a top down seamless knit, written in 8 sizes (72.5cm to 107.5cm high chest circumference) and 4 yarn weights (Fingering, DK, Light Worsted, and Heavy Worsted or Aran)

The pattern is knit utilising the top down raglan shaping method.
You begin by casting on the stitches at the neckline, and working flat before separating off the sleeves, and continuing down the body. Once the body is complete, the sleeves are finished, and edging worked.

This pattern is the adult version of the
Baby Vertebrae
