Collection: Hand-dyed Yarn

Augustbird Hand Dyed Yarn Australia. A row of variegated hand-dyed yarn.

Hand-dyed yarns that provide inspiration and cultivate a positive, nurturing, and uplifting knitting experience.

Augustbird hand-dyed yarns are mindfully created and thoughtfully dyed in Australia, on Peramangk Land, in the beautiful Adelaide Hills. My bush property is the perfect setting for inspiration and creation and I love to make colourways that reflect my natural surroundings and experiences as I live my gentle life.

Augustbird yarn is a base of non-superwash, ethical Australian merino that comes from a single, sustainable farm in Tasmania. It’s super soft, and a joy to knit with.
Augustbird yarns are hand-dyed in small batches and offered in the form of Yarn Clubs. Occasionally there will be a yarn update on the website and any yarns will be listed below. If you would like the opportunity to be a part of the next Yarn Club, please join the waitlist HERE.

My dyeing technique is intuitive, and a process of transforming my feelings and experiences into colour. I use both natural dyes such as eucalyptus leaves foraged from around my property as well as nontoxic acid dyes to gently colour the yarn. Please note that I dye my yarn in small batches one to two times per month. If you see something you like grab it while you can as each dye batch is unique and each skein extra special.

Prepare to embark on a journey of creativity and mindfulness with Augustbird's hand-dyed yarns, proudly made in Australia. Knitting together moments of calm and joy, one stitch at a time.

Happy creating!
