Spring Yarn Club Colourways
I love experiencing the seasons shift through our bush property. So much so that I created a yarn club as a way of sharing the seasonal wonders with you. Here is a look at the two hand-dyed colourways from the recent Spring edition.
Spring Nature Trails Colourway: Wild Flower Abundance

Spring has been quite a different experience for me this year. We spent the first three weeks travelling in the outback, so when we arrived home, spring was already in full swing. I was utterly blown away by the colours and the richness around me. The bush was suddenly full of vibrant life.
I don’t think it was my absence that made it feel so striking, but the season itself. I’d go so far as to say it’s the most intense spring we’ve had since living here. For instance, where there would normally be one or two wild orchids, there are dosens. Our orchid-spotting walks have been so exciting and fruitful. Their sweet little blooms brightening the bush and lifting my spirits.
There are also lots of birds singing and hopping about, and the paddock is as green as ever. I can’t help but feel uplifted by the energy around me. My bush home feels like a little oasis, and I’m buzzing along with it.
I hope this colourway brings a little of that spring energy and sense of abundance into your hands and heart.

Spring Nature Trails Colourway: Cockatoos and Jonquils
The first sign of spring in my bush home is always the arrival of jonquils popping up in the garden. No sooner do those cheerful yellow flowers open than the cheeky cockatoos arrive and tear them to shreds. Luckily, I’m not too emotionally attached to jonquils, so I find the whole spectacle quite cute and amusing.
If it were my lavender or camellias they were attacking, that would be a different story.
But there’s something about their mischievous behaviour that I can’t help but enjoy. With this colourway, I wanted to capture not only the pure joy these birds seem to feel in their games, but also my own delight in watching them.
I hope this colourway reminds you to pause and smile at life’s little moments of playfulness and joy.
What is the Nature Trails Yarn Club?
Nature Trails is an exclusive club inspired by the changing seasons as I experience them. It is a chance to connect with the natural beauty of my bush property in the Adelaide Hills, with each yarn colourway inspired by the wonders of the current season.
