Notes On String

Notes On String - Music Inspired Colourways

The first stocking of Notes On String will take place 8pm tonight (Adelaide time). This project has been so important to me and I'm over the moon to have started it at last.

Below are the colourways that will be available tonight...

Songlark Colourways

The below colourways are featured on the Augustbird Songlark base (100% ethical merino 4ply/ fingering)

At Last - Augustbird Yarn Songlark

'At Last' on Songlark

Inspired by Etta James' version of the song 'At Last'. This was one of the winning songs from the Notes On String Instagram Competition. I'm a big fan of this song

All About That Bass - Augustbird Yarn Songlark

'All About That Bass' on Songlark

Inspired the Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox version of 'All About That Bass' featuring Kate Davis.

I first heard this last year when I was at home mooching around the house with the kids on a Sunday morning. Mr Augustbird was checking his facebook and suddenly jumped up and flicked the tv on. Switching it over to YouTube he said "You gotta watch this!". It was the video of the Postmodern Jukebox version of All About That Bass. It was fantastic!

I'm a little embarrassed to say that until very recently I thought this was the original (and only) version of this song, I had no idea it was a cover! Its such a brilliant arrangement though, and it puts a bounce in my step whenever I heard it and it will always be 'The One' for me.
